Movement project
Helen is currently researching for a third series in her ongoing project exploring movement. She is interested in trails of movement in still photography and aims to create images which contain emotion without or beyond characterization.
Skin on Skin is the second series in this project and focuses on the relationship between shape, space and identity. It first showed at the ISTD Gallery in Shoreditch, London in a solo show in the summer of 2007. It then exhibited at New Brewery Arts, Cirencester in a show curated by Miranda Leonard in the Spring of 2008. Selected images from the series will show in London in June 2008 in group shows at the AOP gallery and at The Air Gallery, Mayfair, as part of the Princes Trust 25th anniversary celebrations. Follow the links to find more information about the series or the talk, or find out where it is currently showing.
Don't Move I Move is the first series in the project, which emerged from working in rehearsals of several collaborations between choreographer Cathy Marston and set designer Jonathan Bausor of works they were creating for the Royal Opera House's ROH2 project.
No Innocent Bystanders
No Innocent Bystanders is an online magazine that Helen founded in 2004. It published monthly or bi-monthly issues until spring 2007, all of which are still available online.
